Occasional delays with orders

We’ve got ourselves a little intermittent glitch that’s causing some orders to ‘hang’ and not complete, which means some folks are buying things and then not receiving a download link until Mongo notices, rolls his sleeves up, and sends the order out manually. Sorry about this: we’re working to find out what exactly is causing the problem – something to do with PayPal, it would seem, but it’s a bit unclear what. Meanwhile, if you buy from us and don’t…

The Emulator II project: a little glimpse of the future…

Some really exciting developments on the Emulator II front! We mentioned a while ago that we were intending to create a really comprehensive library of classic EII sounds; something that covered all those go-to patches of 80s music, plus orchestral patches, synths, drums, percussion… the works. Think Tears for Fears, Thomas Dolby, Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis… The thing is, most of the stand-out tracks you remember used sounds that weren’t part of the factory pack. The…

No DX7s were harmed during the making of this video

If you were even a tiny bit appalled at what Mongo and I did to the poor DX7, it’s time to exhale and rest easy. Don’t tell the guys on YouTube (because the comments are really, really funny) but no working DX7s were harmed in the making of the video. If you look closely (it’s a bit blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, but the clues are there), you’ll see that the working DX7 we show at the start is a DX7IID. The DX7 that…

Vintage your synth!

Everyone likes vintage. Guitarists have been able to buy vintage for several years now, thanks to the likes of Fender’s Custom Shop, which adds relic and vintage to new guitars (for a price). Well, why should synth players be left out of this cool new trend? In our new infowebcast, we show you how to get that vintage into your shiny new synth. Soon you can be sporting a gigged-out mojo monster like your keyboard heroes! Take a look here,…

Emulator rear panel

Just thought you’d like to see where we’re going with the rear panel. This is finalised now, but you’ll see we’ve got a delay and a rotary speaker in there, which is always nice 🙂

So… how many Emulator II sounds do you want, huh?

As the keen-eyed among you will already know, about a year ago we scored an amazing Emulator II and a huge stack of 5.25″ floppies. We’ve been hard at work ever since, transforming floppies into Kontakt instruments, and the late nights are finally starting to pay off. We’ve now got over a hundred Emulator II patches converted to Kontakt format, plus a finalised GUI that you can see here: What we’d like to know now is how much further to…

Add a user review, get a freebie

The subject line kind of says it all, really. We want your comments on the instruments you’ve bought, so anyone who posts a comment or a mini-review (nice or otherwise… we’re very fair) will get an exclusive freeware Kontakt instrument some time in the next month or so (ie, when Mongo’s finished coding it). To add a comment: go to the product page for the instrument you’ve bought; click on the “Reviews” tab just below the main product image, and type…

Uproar is here!

You may have gathered from the mailshot, but our latest Kontakt monstrosity, Uproar, has hit the ground 🙂 Expect seriously weird and unusual sounds from this bolted-together collection of distortion circuits. We’re nearly done on 102200, too, so watch this space…

Sale extended to midnight on Monday

We promised a little sale extension to make up for all the irritating outages and confusions that plagued the weekend, so… you can keep using your MONGOMADNESS coupon until midnight on Monday. At that point, though, it will expire and turn into a pumpkin and some very peeved rats, so get your impulse buying done before then 😀 New instruments very soon now. Uproar is finished and we’re just rolling the factory patches for it; 102200 is being bolted together…

All solved: checkout is working again!

Hurrah. We fixed it. You can now buy stuff, look at your cart, and check out as normal – everything works again 🙂 Apologies once more for the roller-coaster: we prefer recapping old synths to the intricacies of ecommerce solutions. But with luck, it should be plain sailing from now on. Factoid of the day: did you know it should really be ‘plane sailing’ and not ‘plain sailing’? If you’re navigating a sailing ship, you should really plot your course…

Website checkout problems

I’m afraid we have another issue with the website: at the moment, although you can add things to your cart, you can’t view the cart or checkout. Something broke in our ecommerce program. So please don’t try to buy anything over the weekend. We hope to have a fix first thing Monday, so check back in with us then! And apologies once again for the rather protracted teething troubles we’re having. We’ll extend the sale to make up for it.…
